Wonderful

This is a wonderful french press. Firstly I love the aesthetics of it - great visibility into the chamber, plus it is well built - thick glassed beaker compared to other models, and no grinds get through the screen when the coffee is pressed. I did run into an issue when I removed the glass beaker from the metal cage when I was trying to clean it. Upon reinsertion of the glass beaker into the metal cage, the metal cage snapped at the bottom where the 3 little "feet" meet. I wrote the company and they said that it was a manufacturing error and promptly sent me a new one. Great customer support! So great product at a great price.

Good value for the money.

I really shopped for this item looking at many different ones, and decided on this one due to the seller's rating, the customer reviews, the brand, and the value for the price. I am very happy with this item after having this now for a few months. I don't think you can go wrong with this item if you are looking for a one serving French Press that is easily maintained and attractive as well.

UPDATED 22-MARCH-2013: I'm afraid I had to downgrade my review of this french press by Grosche. After less than a year of service, I wound up relying on my old "Frankenstein"* french press. So glad I kept it as a stand-by!The GROSCHE YORK model has developed a problem with its "double filtration system" - it lets in lots of grounds! I find myself having to scoop out the floating grounds in my cup of coffee before I can even enjoy it. :0(I have tried to fix the problem with a thorough cleaning and reassembling the plunger unit, to no avail. The plunger unit itself is a pain to reassemble, unlike my old "Frankenstein" press.* My "Frankenstein" french press is a combination of two french presses; I "resurrected" the original press - (the beaker was broken in a dropping mishap) - with parts of a new french press, because I preferred the handle design of the original. The combined presses still work, even though the knob on the plunger handle comes off, because the screw thread is probably stripped. Less annoying than consistently fishing grounds out of every cuppa jo' from the Grosche York wth its "double-filtration system"(!!!) Grrr!I would NOT recommend this to a friend!I purchased this French Press because my old one is beginning to fall apart after a few years of daily use - although I keep it on "stand-by" just in case ...The beaker on the "Grosche York French Press" seems to be quite sturdy compared to most and I do like the simple style that is VERY easy to clean! :0) I have not noticed any rust whatsoever anywhere and it gets used daily! As a 34-fl. oz. press, it easily makes two full large mugs of coffee, which is just right for my needs at present. Although, I have to remember that because this model has a slotted filter in the lid, the lid, therefore, has to be positioned correctly, so I don't dribble coffee from it when pouring! Oopsies! :0OThe reason I removed a star is because my only very minor "complaint" is that the lid is a bit wobbly, so I have to keep a finger placed on it when pouring the coffee. Something that was never an issue with my old press/es (actually now a combination of 2 presses because the beaker on the original got broken). I am wondering if the "Grosche Madrid" has a less/non-wobbly lid, since I looked at that one before my budget determined I needed to spend less on a coffee press.I will definitely buy another Grosche Coffee Press when I am ready to upgrade and ready for a larger size. I would recommend it to family/friends! :o)
