This fits nicely inside the PCS, only weighs ounces. I used to make 'Cowboy Coffee' while on the trial (dump coffee grounds in boiling water, then add cold water to stop the boil, all the grounds sink to bottom and you can drink the coffee) but I got sick of the coffee not being hot enough and the coffee grounds that didn't want to stay at the bottom.This works perfect for me, so much so that I take it to work on days when I'm out of the office and away from a convenience store. I actually use this to make coffee off the back of my work truck.It works excellent, as long as you follow the simple instructions on the package. Most importantly, do not try to force it quickly, just a slow pressure and it will make a great coffee.I have not had problems with this item bouncing or getting damaged in any way, although I usually fill any gaps inside the PCS with napkins or small ziplock bags of coffee so there is no room for anything to wiggle anyway.

I am a regular coffee press user (it's the only way I make coffee at home). I almost wonder if a majority of the overwhelmingly positive reviews for this thing are from people who don't use a press regularly, and just don't know how bad this one really is. Normal coffee presses have a filter that extends beyond the edge of the filter support to help seal the grounds in - it's virtually impossible for grounds to get past it even if you use a less than ideal grind (too fine). The only way you could would be by pressing WAY too hard, but that's easy enough not to do.I've yet to make a cup of coffee with the jetboil press without a fair to significant amount of grounds in my coffee. The problem as I see it, is that the filter disk just does NOT fit the container well enough.. there is always a slight gap at the edge, which pushing down on the press (no matter how slowly) only makes worse. There is enough wobble with the lid (especially when hot) that there is almost no chance of at least some grounds making it past the filter. I have tried the press in two different jetboil cups, and it's the same with both.I can guarantee I'm not using mine upside down (the fins are down), and I'm not using coffee too fine (at this point I'm not sure how much coarser I could get it without trying to brew whole beans), and I'm not pushing the plunger too fast. I got mine has part of the Flash Java kit and I got that at a great price (less than the flash alone costs) so I can't really complain too much about not liking it, the rest of the flash system is exceptional, but I feel like the people who rave about this the coffee press must be paid to do so.On our last camping trip I resorted to just bringing Starbucks Via and that worked great... I think it's what I'll stick with for camping from now on. An added bonus is that there's nothing messy to clean up and it takes up nearly no space compared to hauling coffee around :)

Jetboil has a great little system. Super way to enjoy my favorite java out in the wild. I was concerned I would bend (and break) the press handle but it hasn't happened yet.
