Reviews

Great Concentrate, Unstable Design
CAM

I dislike the lack of stability in this design, and I won't even address that it's too expensive for what you get.Because it doesn't screw together the components don't stay seated, when it inevitably gets knocked over in the refrigerator. Even moving it around needs to be done with "kid gloves". The lid is worthless, as it only adds height and doesn't stay on. I replaced it with the bottom of my nut grinder.Would I buy it again? No, there are too many other ways to make cool brew coffee at a fraction of the cost.An update: Last week, 1st week of Dec 2011, the top fell off and broken into a dozen pieces. With that break I discovered the top globe was just snugly placed inside a rubberish base. Considering this break, this extremely expensive coffee pot is worthless, so in the end it was a bad purchase of an unstable unit. The manufacturer needs to totally rethink the design for stability improvements.Further update: I've discovered I can place a permanent coffee filter like http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Coffee-GTF2-1-Basket-Style-Permanent/dp/B0000CFQJS/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1348389652&sr=8-5&keywords=Coffee+filterswith a #4 paper filter filled with coffee grounds into any bowl shaped container with a matching opening, filled with water, refrigerated for 8-hours to overnight and have a pot of cold brew! The coffee to water mix would be the same as a standard hot brewed ratio.
