This french press is excellent and more of a deep wine color. I wanted a press that had metal all around it to keep the coffee warm and so that it will last. The cover will pour without having to line anything up. In the morning before coffee, easy is important. My last french press fell apart because of the plastic housing. This seems to be holding together with no signs of wear. I do not put the outside casing in the dishwasher, but it really doesn't get dirty. I have a black and white kitchen so this looks great sitting out on the counter.
