I have been looking for years to replace the carafe I bought from Starbucks ten years ago. This was a real workhouse, and kept coffee hot for TWELVE hours. But, it was showing its age and was pretty banged up. I bought the Bodum in Stainless Steel. I returned it because it looked cheap and was a true fingerprint magnet (it was not the brushed steel as indicated -- brushed SS is better with fingerprints).So I bought the Bodum Chambourd in Black, and have been using it for a year now. It is a beautiful carafe. How does it function? Just fine.I use my carafe to brew coffee. I place the plastic cone and paper filter with coffee grinds directly into the Chambourd and then pour the boiling water in. The plastic cone fits perfectly on the Chambourd.How does it pour? Just fine. It is a bit tricky as the pouring mechanism works by pressing down a button on the screwtop. The button then opens the release for the coffee pour. Sometimes it just does not work. Then I just unscrew the top and pour. Not ideal, but it works.It keeps the coffee piping hot for about three hours. Then it goes to hot. My Starbucks workhorse is a hard act to follow, but the Chambourd is good enough.Happy with purchase and would buy again.

I ordered this carafe in brown. I love the color and it dispenses easily. It holds about 4 large mugs worth. Wish it held more but I couldn't seem to find any that were larger that had as good ratings as this carafe. As long as you understand that it holds 34 ounces and that's fine with you, it's a great product.
