The Lexi coffee press is an elegant way to brew your favorite cup of coffee. Made of creamy white, new bone china - this press is just as at home at the dinner table as it is over the breakfast table. Because there is no paper filter to absorb any of the essential oils or flavors from the coffee, the richest flavor comes through. This press is perfect for making a single cup of coffee. Just put the recommended amount of grounds in the bottom of the glass beaker, cover with water just off the boil, stir the grounds once or twice to ensure they are moistened - let sit for 4-minute and then press the plunger to the bottom of the pot to keep the grounds in place when you pour. I ordered to berghoff glass coffee presses, and both arrived broken- and all of the affordable stainless steel ones just looked so ugly... so I finally found this. It arrived with a hairline crack in the paint on top, which I am letting slide. It makes absolutely awesome coffee, with only the finest sediment in the bottom of your cup. Makes a big over 2 large mugs, or 3 teacups (at least, we are a family of two, so haven't tried to push it).Pours beautifully, plunger works great. Looks SPECTACULAR on the table!BUT- the lid, to keep it on, has a ridiculous plastic ring that isn't even glued to it... this is not good quality, but at least it doesn't touch my coffee. The plunger, on the other hand, is also rimmed with rubber. This is not cool. I don't know whether it's BPA free, and it doesn't leave a funny taste (thank god)- but I don't appreciate it. It is possible that you can use the plunger from other french press. I don't know.Decent thermal insulation- I had steaming hot coffee, hotter than from a drip maker!

First off, it keeps the coffee warmer than glass vessels (which is why I ventured to purchase a ceramic model). Another added bonus is that the silicon plunger works superbly. It has such a fine mesh on it that all it needs is a quick rinse, and it is completely clean. One of the drawbacks for french presses was that you'd have to unscrew the plunger pieces and wash them individually, or else you'd perennially have that stale coffee smell hanging about. This coffee press, however, is ridiculously easy to keep clean.

mine arrived just fine and im impressed by the thick construction. it's tall and can tip over but that hasn't happened to me.the silicon and foil press screen works well although it retains the last bit of liquids when you pour it out.
