All the La Cafetiere products I've had are excellent, and this little French press is no exception. It is much nicer for the price than the comparable plastic cased Bodum models, in my opinion. With its colorful metal case and all metal plunger and filter, it is very well made, and very attractive as well as practical.This is the 3 cup, which means 1 mug in American parlance, just what I needed (I also have an 8 cup La Cafetiere Rainbow press in aqua which I use for company -- it actually makes about 4 mugs, or less). Both produce excellent coffee, especially if you grind your own beans (I do) and use quality coffee. The capacity of French presses is confusing to Americans, who use much larger cup sizes than the Europeans typically use, so it would be useful I think, if the practical "American mug" capacity was listed in the descriptions. It would result in a lot less anger and disappointment from first time buyers of French presses.My order came quickly and the press was in perfect shape, though I must say I'm a bit surprised. It was packed in it's original box in a larger box, with virtually no padding between them. I fully expected the glass beaker to be cracked when I opened it, but it wasn't. Nevertheless, I'd advise whoever packs these fragile items to use a little more padding.I'm very pleased to add this charming little press to my kitchen counter and I'll enjoy it daily.

I bought this for a co-worker who complains about the coffee at work and she LOVES it! It makes about 12 ounces of coffee, which is perfect for one oversized mug. It's very easy to use and just as easy to clean.

Be warned, it really does make only one cup of coffee!! So don't be fooled into thinking you can use it for two people, unless you want reeeeeally small cups of coffee. (I convinced myself that I could use it for two... It was so darn cute). If all you want is a 4 to 6 oz cup then is actually fine, it will make two cups. I use it for two small cups if I have a girlfriend over in the morning or something for a coffee. But usually my boyfriend and I like a larger cup, so I make 2 batches. Or use my other, larger press.But I adore it. Comes with a scoop, so it's super easy. Just put in a big scoop of coffee to your liking, fill to the top with the hot water, leave lid on for 4 minutes, press, and voila.It is PERFECT for solo use. Makes a nice cup of coffee, I've never wanted more coffee at once than a full press made. Easy clean. High quality. 5 stars.
