Item Information

The ARABICA Thermal French Press Coffeemaker is a double-wall of stainless steel which keeps coffee hot for a longer period of time without transferring the heat to the outside walls. The Santoprene handle ensures a cool, non-slip grip. The added bonus of the Arabica is the ability to turn it into an elegant jug. Simply remove the plunger mechanism and lid and you have a beautiful jug that will keep water, juice, milk or any other beverage cold (or hot) for hours. The Santoprene base is non-slip, which, together with the ultra-strong full metal body, makes it an ideal plunger for the boat, caravan or camping. The 3-part stainless steel plunger has a fine mesh filter, which allows for a premium extraction of your coffee’s aromatic oils and subtle flavors. A mesh filter allows this flavor to be delivered direct to your cup and not absorbed by a paper filter. Plus, no paper filter means no waste. The patented safety lid prevents the splashing of liquids while pressing. All parts are dishwasher safe. Available in 8-cup (1.0 l, 34 oz.) size models.

Customer Opinions

Not really "thermal" but better than glass

This Press is beautiful, but it does have some issues. The spout is small, so the first pour tends to dribble, unless you are very very careful. The lid is plastic! It's not very "thermal." I must continue to use a cover for the pot, so its beauty is lost. My son's Thermos/Nissan is not so beautiful, much less expensive, but is actually thermal - the outside of the press stays cool proving that the inside is hot.Other features: The non-slip bottom is very non-slip;, you can not slide it along a tray or tablecloth. The filter is excellent - a fine mesh that keeps the grounds down where they belong.

Well-made, functional, simple, beautiful, elegant...

Well-made, functional, simple, beautiful, elegant...AND durable! Now I don't have to settle for instant coffee at car camp :)An all-steel strainer would have made it a 5-star. One reason I prefer a French press is I want more inert materials (like SS steel, not plastic) in contact with my coffee.THE STRAINER IS NOT "3-part stainless steel mesh filter", as Amazon describes it. Strainer is stainless steel mesh molded into PLASTIC frame. SILICONE seal on it's circumference which seals interface between the strainer and steel wall of the press. NOT same as the 3-part strainer used on Bodum's glass presses which is composed of:1) SS mesh in middle,2) Upper frame with spiral surround to press steel mesh against carafe wall,3) Bottom steel frame to sandwich the mesh.

Drip! Drip! Drip!

I was thrilled to find this pot. It is beautiful, and it keeps the coffee warm. However, I can't put it on the table. It drips so much when I pour that I can only pour over the sink. I had forgotten, until I tried to use the pot that 6 or 7 years ago I bought the same pot and had to return it because of the same defect. What a mess it makes. I would have thought that in all this time Bodum could have corrected this problem.
