This french press is 12-oz, which is about 1.5 small 8-oz coffee cups (or one slightly larger 12-oz one). This is great for a quick spot of delicious coffee in the morning if you don't want to consume a whole pot.I have this french press as well as several others, depending on how much I want to consume. Yes, I have a bit of a problem, hence the need for a smaller press! Theses are well made and sturdier than most brands, but you can buy replacement beakers if you break the glass piece.The wonderful thing about french press coffee is that none of the delicious oils are stolen away by a filter. You get a similar effect from a gold cone filter as well. However, I can drink my coffee black without sugar if I french press it, but not through our gold cone. It just tastes better out of a press. I think if people READ the description, it says 12 oz. We in America are used to great big mugs of coffee, but in Europe it's a different story. Bodum is so well made, sturdy, and has replaceable glass. Coffee made in their French presses tastes GREAT! I have several sizes so I can make my mug of coffee with the 12 oz., and a larger one for when I have guests.
