I complained of how thin the beaker for this press is in another review. I ordered this replacement beaker when mine broke way too easily. I thought it was a fluke, but when this replacement arrived, it was broken in the box. I could hear it as I brought it in. I hadn't even opened up the brown Amazon box. This just confirmed for me that the glass is too thin. I will be moving on to a Bodum. Think twice before replacing this beaker. Your money will be better spend on a new press.I have attached a video of me opening the package as it arrived from Amazon. I held the camera while I opened the box, so I apologize if it looks like I shot the video during a magnitude 7 earthquake.

I'm on my third beaker in less than one year. Admittedly the first break was my own fault. The plunger struck the beaker during cleaning (which was little more than a tap but still the kiss of death). The next beaker broke during routine, gentle cleaning. I apparently need to order two at a time to make sure I don't have a lapse in use.Can y'all make this just a smidge sturdier?

The first one I ordered was defective--the glass was misshapen and did not fit into our LaCafetiere frame. Returned it. The second one was slightly misshapen, but did fit the frame. However, the glass was so fragile that it broke after a few uses.I have been using french presses for years. While they are all fragile, the LaCafetiere replacement glass is of poor quality and even more fragile than the rest.
