As the previous reviewer said, keeps coffee steaming hot.... filled mine at 9am and still had steaming hot coffee at 3pm in it...Button works well, perfect seal.Bodum's prices are excessive. I got lucky didn't purchase mine here at Amazon but found this carafe on clearance at Crate and Barrel and got 2 for the price of one...
