Good Product for The Price! Efficient and Inexpensive!

Let's call it the way it is: this is a plastic container with a snap-top lid. There's no hi-tech going on. In fact it's very low tech. For those looking for an inexpensive way to store coffee beans or fresh ground, this is a great way to accomplish that goal. Container will hold a full one pound of ground coffee. I don't use it for whole beans so I can't speak to that. The design is very simple and not elegant. It also doesn't have an elegant price-I paid $11.99 for mine. The lid has a seal so when it's closed, the coffee is kept fresh. I grind enough for about 10 days, and the last pot is just as good as the first. I don't suggest grinding more than 10 days worth. After that, it tends to lose the freshness. Some, like my son the coffee-nazi, will argue this happens much sooner. The lid also has a curious valve-device in the center that's supposed to vent the CO2 as the coffee "breathes". I don't know if it works, but the company suggests replacing it every month. Sounds suspiciously like an attempt to create a repetitive revenue stream. I've had my unit for three months, haven't changed it once and notice no difference in the taste of my coffee. Maybe the company thinks that the valve wears out every month. I don't think so but you decide this one for yourself.I only have one itsy-bitsy complaint: when empty and with the lid completely open, the unit is top heavy and tends to fall over. Of course this only occurs empty, so with 5 of 6 ounces in it, the container stabilizes. My rating of 4 stars is not because I find anything wrong with the item but five stars are reserved for something that is absolutely magnificent in every way. A four-star product that's inexpensive, easy to use, only one moving part(the lid) and simply does what it's supposed to. I recommend this product.

Good coffee Conainer for Roasted Beans

Convenient for keeping the beans fresh is you buy those 40 oz bags of roasted beans. The sister Stainless steel containers are more expensive and easier to open and closeSo this one is good as an overflow container for the extra beans. I bought one of these and the 16 oz stainless, same brand.

works ok
persona non grata

This product does work as advertised, but there were a few disappointments in the design.First, the product is top heavy. If the lid is open, it becomes very unstable and may tip over, especially if it is empty, or near empty. You risk spilling the beans as it were.Second this is not a fully airtight container. There is a vent in the lid that contains these proprietary oxygen absorbers. If you send away the warranty card the will send you some to get started. I have no idea if these work or not, and probably can't be bothered to replace them as directed. I would much prefer to forgo this and just have a normal airtight container.
